If you’re interested in camping in Tromso under the Northern Lights, you’re in the right place. Tromso Lodge and Camping offers cabins and cottages with private patios and kitchen facilities. It’s also one of the best budget hotels in Tromso, so if you’re trying to visit Tromso on the cheap, this could be your best bet!
Just make sure to check if the cabin you’re looking at has a private or share bathroom to avoid unwanted surprises. Either way, you’re sure to enjoy the onsite sauna to warm up. This is where I stayed and I have to say, our cabin (pictured above) was super cute!!!

6. Aurora Borealis Observatory
If your goal is to see the Aurora Borealis in Tromso, this is the place for you. Located outside of Tromso on Senja Island is the Aurora Borealis Observatory. This unique property offers ample opportunities to enjoy the dark night sky with the lights dancing overhead. Spend time in the outdoor hot tubs, skiing, or at a hot spring bath.

Two of the best hotels in Tromso, Norway are Clarion Hotel The Edge and Radisson Blue Hotel, Tromso. They’re located right in town and offer clean, convenient, and cozy rooms for a visit to this Northern paradise.
The downside of staying in town is the light pollution which can make it more difficult to see the Northern Lights. Fortunately, there are endless tours that will take you out of the city in search of this magical experience, just make sure to put it into your budget as they can add up!
